The Nuggets forced a Game 7 with a 119–107 home win over the Thunder, but there’s concern over Aaron Gordon’s health heading into the decider.

Starting forward Aaron Gordon played 38 minutes and 14 seconds, but had a subpar performance with just 2-of-7 shooting for 5 points. Fortunately, he still contributed with 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1 steal to help Denver secure the win. However, interim head coach David Adelman expressed postgame concern over Gordon’s hamstring, which could become a major issue ahead of Game 7. Medical expert Dr. Evan Jeffries, DPT, analyzed that Gordon may have suffered a left hamstring strain.

The Nuggets are undoubtedly the most physically taxed team in this year’s playoffs. They needed seven games to beat the Clippers in the first round (overcoming a 1–2 series deficit), and after falling behind 2–3 in the second round, they returned home to defeat the Thunder and once again force a Game 7.

Denver has become the first team in this year’s postseason to go to seven games in back-to-back series, playing 14 playoff games in just 29 days—an extremely heavy workload.

Gordon has been a standout performer for the Nuggets this postseason, delivering two game-winners and a clutch game-tying shot. On both ends of the floor, he’s played a crucial role as a frontcourt anchor next to Jokic.

However, late in Game 6, cameras caught Gordon holding the back of his thigh and limping slightly, raising concerns about a possible injury.

Despite that, Gordon still logged over 38 minutes. While his shooting was off (2-of-7 from the field, 1-of-4 from three), he still contributed across the board and posted a +17 plus-minus—the second-highest in the game.

Dr. Evan Jeffries analyzed the situation on social media, writing:

“It looks like Aaron Gordon might have strained his left hamstring during this game. That’s very worrying with Game 7 coming up. He didn’t look quite right—kept grabbing at the back of his left thigh.”

Coach Adelman confirmed postgame:

“We’re definitely concerned about Gordon’s hamstring, though we don’t know the exact details yet. Fortunately, we have two full days of rest, which is great.”

The Nuggets will face the Thunder in a decisive Game 7 on the road on May 19.
