LBJ: I Keep Seeing People Say I Have No Skills on Social Media – I've Scored Over 500 Billion Poin

Today, Lakers forward LeBron James' podcast The Court of Mind continued airing. When discussing basketball skills, James said:

On Skill Development and Efficiency

"Growing up, flashy dribbles weren't the focus. The emphasis was on getting to your sweet spot with minimal dribbles—that's efficiency. When I watched Mike Jordan as a kid, he didn't dribble 1,000 times before shooting. He'd find his spot and pull up. Isiah Thomas, even with his elite handle, would get to his spot in one move and shoot.

"The players I watched—Grant Hill used physicality to get position; Allan Houston was one of those polished scorers. I also admired Penny Hardaway growing up. They could handle the ball, but guys like T-Mac, even with great handles, played like, 'I'm taller, I can shoot—I just need a few dribbles to get off a shot.'

"Kevin Garnett relied on footwork. If he was taller, he'd seal you with his shoulder and use his size advantage."

Responding to "No Skills" Criticism

"On social media, I keep seeing people say, 'LeBron has no bag.' I'm like, LeBron has no bag? I'm sitting here with 50 billion points!" (Note: James' actual career total is 50,473 points—42,184 in the regular season, 8,289 in the playoffs.)
