The video James shared was posted by his podcast Mind the Game, featuring clips of Windhorst's earlier predictive comments about the show. Windhorst had claimed that fans prefer "dramatic topics" over tactical analysis, stating: "They say they want to talk tactics, but I'll tell you—if the entire show was just tactical breakdowns, it wouldn't work. I mean, maybe basketball coaches would want to listen, but if LeBron and Nash sit down for an hour discussing tactics, the audience won't buy it."

The video included numerous positive fan reactions to the podcast and highlighted its climbing rankings (with over 16 million views), clearly disproving Windhorst's predictions. James' caption reeked of dissatisfaction with Windhorst, marking not the first time he has publicly contradicted the ESPN reporter. Once labeled James' "go-to journalist"—given they attended the same high school and Windhorst has covered James' entire career—their relationship has since soured.

In March, James  Windhorst on The Pat McAfee Show, saying: "This guy claims to be my best friend. These people are so strange." He told the host that his frustration with NBA coverage motivated him and JJ Redick to launch the podcast last year. This season, two-time MVP and Hall of Famer Steve Nash replaced Redick as a regular guest.

James, who holds a player option for next season, is expected to continue his NBA career—his 23rd season. This year, he earned All-NBA Second Team honors, becoming the oldest player in history to make an All-NBA team. In 70 regular-season games, he averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists, shooting 51.3% from the field, 37.6% from deep, and 78.2% from the line.
